It wasn’t until two years later, when Pharaoh had a dream that no one could interpret, that the official remembered Joseph. He told Pharaoh about Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams, and Joseph was summoned to the palace.
Pharaoh told Joseph about his dream, which involved seven fat cows and seven thin cows, and seven healthy ears of grain and seven withered ears of grain. Joseph interpreted the dream, telling Pharaoh that the seven fat cows and healthy ears of grain represented seven years of plenty in Egypt, and that they would be followed by seven years of famine, represented by the seven thin cows and withered ears of grain.
