Today we are going to learn how to make crepe paper rose buds. These handmade rose crepe paper flowers look so vibrant and beautiful you can’t take off your eyes from these colourful buds.
I want to ask you one question, do you like roses? Of course, everyone does. I too love roses. Roses are so beautiful and attractive and it is a symbol of love too.
On valentine’s day we all want to buy roses and give it to our loved ones. But it feels sad when the bouquet of roses wilt and you have to throw them away.

Let us get started with rose paper flower DIY. So here are step by step instructions (with pictures) on how you can make crepe paper rose buds.

Materials needed to make easy crepe paper rose buds
- German Crepe paper (colours of your own choice)
- Sticks
- Foil Paper
- Cotton
- Scissors
- Glue Stick/Fevicol/Hot Glue Gun
- Thread
- Floral tape

How to make a crepe paper rose buds at home step by step
Step 1 –  Take the sticks, Crepe paper and Scissors
Step 2 – Cut the crepe paper in Petal shapes
With the help of scissors cut two pieces of crepe paper of each colour in the shape of petals (as shown in pic)

Step 3 – Stretch and shape the petals
Gently stretch the petals from the middle and at the edges as shown in pic below.
To stretch in the middle, carefully pull the crepe outwards and upwards. So that the middle of the petal looks a little like a cup.
To curl at the top you can use a pencil and wrap the paper around it . While wrapping stretch the crepe paper a little.
This stretching and curling will form more natural looking rose petals.
4 – Make the green part (sepal/calyx) of rose flower
Take the green crepe paper and cut one edge as shown below. This when wrapped around will form the lower green base of the roses.
Step 5 – Give the green part (sepal/calyx) a natural look
To give it a more natural look just twist the ends and make it look like pic below.ÂÂ
Step 6 – To make a rose bud. Wrap the cotton ball on a stick
To make the inner part of rose bud, wrap cotton on one end of stick and gently tie it with thread so that it does not come out.
Step 7 – Wrap the foil paper on cotton bud formed above
To give rose bud a perfect shape and tidy look, Wrap a small piece of foil paper on cotton.
Step 8 – Start making a rose bud
As inner part of bud is ready take two pieces of petals (formed earlier) and start wrapping around the rose bud stick.
To give the rose bud a firm and nice look make sure the center part of the bud is made nicely in step 7 above.
Step 9 – Give the rose bud a perfect and natural shape
Gently wrap the petals around the stick and tie it firmly at the base with a thread.
I have used green thread to tie it. If you want you can glue it first and then tie it with the thread.

Step 10 – Wrap the green base (sepal or calynx) of the rose flower
Now wrap the sepal created above in step 5 around the rose bud and give it a more natural look.
Step 11 – Wrap the floral tape around the rose bud base
After pasting the sepal wrap the lower part of rose bud and stick it with floral tape.
Make as many of these colourful beautiful rose buds as you want and arrange them in a bouquet.
Your bouquet of handmade easy roses paper flowers is ready.
Use it for home decoration, or gift it it someone on special days like Valentine’s day or birthdays.
